Necessary Imagination
Any new sort of initiative,
for churches or other organizations, requires imagination. Before an idea can come to fruition, it must be imagined, and in the imagination, the details become to get worked out: finances, spaces, schedules, and other sorts of logistics that will be needed to bring the project to life.
In this issue of our newsletter, we
offer three stories that stir our imaginations about how churches (and followers of Christ in general) might be more deeply and faithfully involved in housing, in the use of electric automobiles, and in publishing. Finding our way into a deeper life together requires the sort of imagination represented in these three stories.
Cultivating Communities works alongside cohorts of churches that are in close-proximity to each other, providing resources and helping them discern what it might look like for their congregations and their places to flourish. Our first two cohorts (one in the mountains of East Tennessee and one on the west side of Chicago) are now underway, and a third cohort will start soon here in Indianapolis.
