In Our Chaotic World
 

Leading a church in these chaotic times is challenging work. So many forces exert themselves on our church bodies, and on the members of these bodies. We are pulled in many directions, and only the grace of God can hold us together. In this issue, we highlight articles related to the challenges of leading churches in 2024. 

Cultivating Communities works alongside cohorts of churches that are in close-proximity to each other, providing resources and helping them discern what it might look like for their congregations and their places to flourish. Our first three cohorts (one in the mountains of East Tennessee, one on the west side of Chicago, and one in Indianapolis) are now underway.

Melissa Florer-Bixler on this complicated novel about a pastoral search committee: "The more I reflected, the clearer I could see how Huneven relays, without her knowing, insight into the crisis of clergy shortage we’re facing.
